The Power of Reaching Out

Summer can sometimes feel surprisingly isolating for women. Maybe your social media feed is filled with exotic vacations while your days are spent at home, or perhaps your usual opportunities for connection have faded now that school is out. If you’re feeling a little disconnected or adrift this season, you’re not alone. And even if you’re not feeling it yourself, chances are someone around you is.

We believe women have a unique and powerful ability to comfort, serve, and make others feel seen and loved. In a season where many may be struggling quietly, we encourage you to be the one who reaches out- send the text, make the call, extend the invitation.

Is there a friend you haven’t seen or heard from in a while? Reach out and set a time to catch up. Do you know a mom who just had a baby and hasn’t been at the usual gatherings? A quick drop-off of coffee or offering to hold the baby while she showers can mean the world. And if you’re the one feeling the weight of loneliness, this is your sign to ask someone to get together. A simple check-in, a walk with the kids, or a casual playdate can be life-giving for everyone involved.

These small acts of connection help us feel more whole as we live out our vocation of serving God, our families, and our communities with joy.

Let this be your gentle reminder: reach out. Invite someone in. Be the reason another woman feels seen and supported this week. Because when we lift each other up, we grow in our ability to love not just our friends, but everyone in our lives.

"Oh, as you so well said, the friendship we have is no ordinary friendship; it's a friendship between souls."
